Solution Scenario

The client

The reception area of an international food and retail group.

The technology

Reception staff were finding that they were unable to answer all the calls they were receiving as they were spending time booking in visitors and having to inform people that their guest had arrived. A sign-in system was implemented, using a V212 wireless tablet, located at the front desk. The tablet allowed visitors to automatically sign-in, and then sent a phone message or e-mail to the person they were seeing. This would inform them that they had a visitor waiting at reception.

The benefits

The new technology has freed up reception staff to handle incoming calls, preventing the company from having to take on more staff members. The new system also provides an accurate list of everyone in the building, allowing an accurate head count to be taken in case of fire or emergency evacuation.
