Solution Scenario

The client

The customer services department of a government transport agency.

The technology

In addition to counter services, provided for drivers who needed to pay tax, adjust details or make an enquiry, the agency provided a number of mobile PDA's to employees in each branch. These employees would answer basic queries, and ensure customers had completed all the required forms, prior to reaching the counter - reducing the amount of time each driver spent at the counter.

The benefits

As a result of deploying this technology, waiting times at busy periods have decreased considerably. As staff can now quickly determine a driver’s registration and status, efficiency has increased. This improvement has allowed staff costs to be reduced, enabling the agency to re-coup the initial investment in the system.
